Course Oerview:
This full-day course provides a comprehensive introduction to endodontics, combining foundational theory with practical hands-on training, designed for participants at a basic level to ensure a strong understanding of core endodontic concepts and techniques.
Morning Session (Theory):
Introduction to endodontics and the role of the dentist, principles and goals of root canal therapy, pulp physiology and pathology, pain management, importance of rubber dam isolation and infection control, root canal anatomy, access cavity preparation, anatomical variations, working length determination and chemo-mechanical preparation/disinfection, canal irrigation, apex locators.
Afternoon Session (Practical):
Rubber dam placement and isolation; access cavity preparation on extracted teeth; canal preparation using hand files, rotary and reciprocating files; irrigation and disinfection; obturation techniques (cold lateral condensation and warm vertical techniques with gutta percha); emergency pain control and post-operative management; the importance of magnification (dental microscope and loupes) in endodontics.
