With the support of SAAD-accredited trainers from the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry, Sage Academy's Sedation Mentorship Programme provides expert guidance in both intravenous (IV) and inhalation sedation (IS), helping dentists and dental nurses expand their patient base and advance their practice.

Participants who have completed accredited theory training receive supervised practical mentorship to provide sedation independently and safely. The supervised experience requirement totals 30 cases: 20 intravenous sedation (IVS) cases (at least 10 of which include the dentist performing the dental treatment) and 10 inhalation sedation (IS) cases (at least 5 including dental treatment).

Location:

Sage Dental Referral Centre, 89-91 South Road, Southall, UB1 1SQ.

Work-based assessment and support includes a logbook for each technique, a DOPS form (Direct Observation of Procedural Skills) for each case, a Practice Checklist, and a Document Submission Checklist completed by the supervisor.

Prerequisites:

Completed accredited theory training in sedation; proof of Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification; a full list of required documents is provided upon sign-up.

Programme pricing:

- Inhalation Sedation Cases – £1,800 (mentorship for 10 inhalation sedation cases; eligibility: dentist)

- Intravenous (IV) Sedation Cases – £2,800 (mentorship for 20 IV sedation cases; eligibility: dentist)

- Dental Nurse Attending Independently – £1,100 (observation and practical support training; eligibility: qualified dental nurse)
